A Little About Contemporary Nutrition; Modern Day Food Intake and Their Benefits

Unlike previous times, foods these days are pretty much common among everyone. People used to cook at homes, and most of the times the same food would taste differently in different houses. But these days, the food comes from cans and packets, and most of the times, no matter which part of the country you may go, the food might taste exactly the same; for they all come from the same source.

Vegetarians

Some people, on the other hand, are limited of their nutrition intake due to foods they eat by reasons of health, morality, and many other factors. These people are simply known as vegetarian and they consume a contemporary nutrition intake indeed. They basically choose to forgo foods from animal sources such as meat, eggs, milk and so on.

This can be very good at one perspective, but not in another. From one angle, this is good because the contemporary nutrition does not have bad nutrients such as fat and is very low in calories, rich in fiber, carbohydrates and antioxidants. On the other hand, this food contains nothing much in protein and other important nutrients like calcium and magnesium, which is essential in good growth.

Genetically Modified Food

This is another evolution in contemporary nutrition these days, where natural foods such as vegetables and meat are not actually natural in reality. They are genetically produced or manufactured, also known as Genetically Modified or GM foods. This industrial farming and mass production of foods had indeed led to many controversies in the common dietary practice these days that people have shifted from the tradition food pyramid to their own individual ones.

This is one of the main reasons as to why people are slowly moving to vegetarian foods and

Women and Their Nutrition…very Important to All of Us!

Many of our readers asked for simple nutrition tips for women. Women today are busier than ever before. Their stress is exacerbated by today’s fast paced, pre-packaged, convenience based society and the toxins that come from antibiotics and household cleaners. Iron-deficiency anemia is very common in young women. Women need nutrition and they need to be CLEAN from toxins. Here’s a nutrition tip for all women — berries are your friends.

While women’s role in the food chain is essential to produce that all-important resource, food, it paradoxically does not guarantee women even minimum levels of nutrition. Women are often responsible for producing and preparing food for the household, so their knowledge or lack thereof about nutritions effect on the entire family. Women with adequate stores of iron and other micronutrients are less likely to suffer fatal infections and are more likely to survive bleeding during and after childbirth. Women in developing countries are also regularly deficient in vitamin A, iodine, and energy. Women of child-bearing age are recommended to take folic acid supplements and consume a folic-rich diet. Women are also at higher risk for developing osteoporosis and need more calcium and vitamin D to prevent it. Studies showed that women with vitamin D insufficiency absorb less than 10 percent of available calcium.

However, even among the poor, different groups of women are affected differently by macro development policies, such as the commercialization of agriculture or family planning. The conflict between women’s (economic) earning role and (biological and social) mothering role results to some degree in a squeeze on child care, with consequences for child health and nutrition.

Quit Drinking Alcohol For Health And Safety Of Their Children

Parents who really love their children are willing to give up something which they really love and enjoy themselves for the health and safety of their children. Young people need parents to direct them and help them make good decision. There is no question in the idea of parents abstaining. The conclusion on one of the study is alcohol use by young people is dangerous not only because of the risk but also for the acute impairment associated with it. Programs are being made and young people are really being educated about the dangers of drinking alcohol.

Encouraging parents not to choose drinking alcohol is the good idea. The patterns and consequences of the youth drinking are closely related to the patterns of the drinking in home and society. The best way to help our youngsters not to choose drinking is to teach adults not to drink alcohol. Parents should choose not to drink alcohol is because: Model is the best teacher and a double standard doesn’t work.

Telling a child not to drink until they grow is one of the deactivating solutions which teach them drinking is ok and then they wait for that magical age where they can drink. The first drink can be the banging of alcoholism. Half of the children who have drinking in their family can become alcoholic. As parent, we need to teach our children to live naturally. They need to understand the meaning of health life to live happily and we or parents are the major contributor for that. Good parents set good example for their children so that they can teach them good things in life.
