Nutrition For the Cells – How can we eat right to keep healthy?

Nutrition For Your Cells. (Part 1)

Your Body’s Health – From The Inside Out.

We all remember hearing as children that “an apple a day will keep the doctor away”.

Apples are great for nutrition, fibre, even water, but we need more than that. Modern research has clearly shown that a truly health diet needs to contain:

? protein,

? carbohydrates,

? fats,

? vitamins,

? minerals,

? oils,

? dietary fibre,

? and sufficient clean water,

- If it is to support long term, sustainable, good health.

If this is backed up by some regular exercise then you have the possibility of having a good metabolism and a highly active immune system.

Basically, the stronger your immune system the healthier you are and, as a consequence, the more protected you are from environmental factors that lead to infection and sickness. If you eat foods that are rich in the nutrients your body needs it is able to keep you strong at a cellular level.

You are giving the body the tools it needs to keep your immune system strong. A strong immune system supports individuals having fewer colds and viruses and they are better equipped to fight off illnesses at all levels, be that colds or chronic diseases.

Our problem as a community is that an average modern diet of coffee, fast food, snacks and sugars, does not give us enough of the essential micronutrients, and the botanical factors, that our body needs.

When we are lacking the essential nutrition ingredients, the basic building blocks that our body needs to maintain the various systems of our body, we are at

It’s Time to Start a Healthy Life

How many times have you gone to sleep at night, swearing you’ll go to the gym in the morning, and then changing your mind just eight hours later because when you get up, you don’t feel like exercising?

While this can happen to the best of us, it doesn’t mean you should drop the ball altogether when it comes to staying fit. What people need to realize is that staying active and eating right are critical for long-term health and wellness — and that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The more you know about how your body responds to your lifestyle choices, the better you can customize a nutrition and exercise plan that is right for you. When you eat well, increase your level of physical activity, and exercise at the proper intensity, you are informing your body that you want to burn a substantial amount of fuel. This translates to burning fat more efficiently for energy.

In other words, proper eating habits plus exercise equals fast metabolism, which, in turn gives you more energy throughout the day and allows you to do more physical work with less effort.

The true purpose of exercise is to send a repetitive message to the body asking for improvement in metabolism, strength, aerobic capacity and overall fitness and health. Each time you exercise, your body responds by upgrading its capabilities to burn fat throughout the day and night, Exercise doesn’t have to be intense to work for you, but it does need to be consistent.

I recommend engaging in regular cardiovascular exercise four times per week for 20 to 30 minutes per session, and resistance training four times per week for 20 to 25 minutes per session. This balanced approach provides a one-two punch, incorporating

Perseverance to Find Direction in Life and Staying Healthy

It is essential to have direction map out in life by setting goals. With goal setting in personal life and career, it is easier to attain happiness and make use of perseverance to rise above any obstacles that you might have met on the course to attain your goals. The important of goal setting cannot be overstated and the perseverance to work toward each goal is equally vital.

Life becomes purposeful when each set of goals are accomplished and if you slip, the least you can do is to track back to the goal, persevere to seek to attain them again. With a life direction, there is a sense of fulfillment and a positive life is a much better proposition.

With perseverance there is direction and with focus the mission of setting out to attain the goals become clearer and easier. Perseverance is essential in whatever we try to do and when pertain to our daily grind; life becomes purposeful and healthy. Perseverance can be used to apply to many situations and when you come out ahead of the effort, it adds to our confidence and sense of purpose.

By applying perseverance in our life, we will begin each task with the determination to realize the goal and never give up. Quitting is not in our vocabulary and the only point we stop is once we have reached our goals. It may look silly in the eyes of many but do not let the negativity stop you from persevering and achieving your goal.

When you meet challenges and obstacles in life, perseverance will see you through. The tougher it gets, the harder you press on and nothing will stop you to passionately get ahead in your life. Perseverance is an essential tool in many life situations and with the right application; there is no task that is unattainable.

Is It Healthy To Read Health News?

Doctors who followed a checklist developed by the World Health Organization cut the worldwide surgical death rate by almost half and reduced complications by more than one-third. Ask patient’s name, mark incision site, count sponges after surgery – those are three of the nineteen items on the checklist. Although the results of using the list are most dramatic in developing countries, Britain, Ireland, Jordon and the Philippines will use it in all operating rooms. The Joint Commission, which sets standards for most U.S. hospitals, is considering using more of the steps – which would be steps in the right direction.

According to numbers released in January 2009 by the National Center for Health Statistics, some numbers are going in the wrong direction. The number of obese Americans (people 100 pounds or more overweight) now exceeds the number of overweight Americans. Thirty-four percent are obese and 32.7 percent are overweight. Thirty-four percent means more than 72 million Americans are obese – more than double the number in 1980. Although the percent of overweight Americans remained stable, the percent of extremely obese is now 6 percent. Among other things, excess weight increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes and several types of cancer – and being healthy becomes a fat chance.

In a study done at Carnegie Mellon University 150 healthy men and women were asked to record how long they slept at night and how much time they spent tossing and turning. After 2 weeks the volunteers were infected with a cold virus. Those who slept less than 7 hours nightly were 3 times more likely to get a cold. Those who tossed and turned or spent a lot of time trying to go to sleep were also much more likely to get sick. It seems the

According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, protein chemicals in pollen that cause seasonal allergies are also in certain raw foods. For example, ragwood pollen is related to chemicals in cantaloupe, banana, sunflower seeds, zucchini and cucumber. Grass pollen is related to peaches, celery, melons, tomatoes and oranges. When these foods are eaten, the body’s immune system responds as if it were ingesting pollen. Unlike seasonal allergies, oral allergy is year-round; and although reactions to it are usually limited to the lips and mouth, for one-third of seasonal allergy sufferers it’s nothing to sneeze at.

According to new guidelines issued in July 2008 by the American Academy of Pediatrics, children at risk for high cholesterol and heart disease should be screened; and it was recommended children be given cholesterol-lowering drugs. The concern about millions of children taking statin drugs with limited testing on children set off a controversy. However, far fewer children may need these drugs than predicted. A new study of the cholesterol levels of more than 2,700 youths ages 12 to 17 found less than 1% met AAP guidelines for drug treatment. Instead, a change in diet and increased exercise was recommended – a new look at an old solution.

According to a report published in the Archives of General Psychiatry, greater exposure to TV during teenage years increases the risk of depression in young adulthood – especially among males. The 4,100 healthy adolescents in the study reported an average of 5.68 hours a day of media exposure, of which 2.3 hours were TV. When the participants were screened 7 years later, 7.4% had developed depression. According to the report, the teens had a significantly

Balanced Diet & Healthy Life

All of us need to eat healthy food to live a healthy life. The key lies in knowing not just what to eat but also how much and when to eat. Eating Healthy is not about strict diet philosophy, staying idealistically thin or to keep away from the food you love. It is about eating right, feeling good, having more energy, and keeping fit. It is important to have well balanced diets which contain good supply of carbohydrates, high fiber foods, water, vitamins and minerals, proteins as well as fats. A healthy diet contains not only consuming the right foods, but also eating them in correct proportions and at proper time.

The following healthy Eating Guidelines will help you to create a healthy balanced diet in your life or you can also refer more men’s and women’s health tips from  health insurance  free articles

1.      Avoid eating excess food: Eat when you are hungry and stop eating when you don’t have appetite. Don’t bother about wastage of excess food. Discard the entire unnecessary, excess eating intake out of your life. Proper eating of food will help you to remain healthy and active, stress-free and at your best. You can seek advice from your doctor as to how much to eat especially when want to lose weight.

2.      Take time to chew your food slowly: Healthy eating begins with smart eating. It is not only just what you eat but also how you eat. Always eat slowly and chew your food rather than swallowing it. This would also help you enjoy the actual taste and flavour of the food. More importantly, it also lets you know when you‘re actually full thus preventing excess food intake and overeating.

Healthy Living: 3 Lies You Tell Yourself That Keep You From Living The Healthy Life You Dream Of

We all live 2 lives, we have the life we actually live and the life we dream of living.  What’s standing in your way are little lies or resistance.  Resistance to change causes us to lie to ourselves all the time. Our mind considers these healthy lies and it makes us feel better about not being the person we dream of being.

Here are 3 “healthy” lies you must stop telling yourself for they are keeping you from the healthy life full of happiness you dream of.

Lie # 1:  I can’t live a healthy life because of my genetics

Think to yourself for a minute…is that really true?

Why do we give ourselves this free pass?  We tell ourselves things like “well, my whole family is overweight…”, “well, my mother or father had cancer…”, “well, I’m destined to be this way…”  This is our resistance talking and keeping you from the healthy life you deserve.  It’s a bunch of baloney.  Did you know that by the time you reach 50, your lifestyle, including your diet, determines 80% of how you age! The remaining 20% is inherited through genetics.

Truth: Genetics do not determine your health or quality of life, it is your choices.

Lie #2:  I can’t live a healthy life because I have no control when it comes to food

Think to yourself for a minute…is this really true?

You absolutely have control over what you put into your body.  Your inner resistance is making you believe this crazy thought.  Be careful, sometimes you cannot trust what you think, because it’s simply not true.

Truth:  You have a choice.  I used to eat whatever I wanted and it was all food that did nothing to nourish my body. It took being diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that made me
